Lavonne was born in Moultrie, GA to Hiram and Gladys Jordan. He served his country in the United States Army and worked in the grocery industry for nearly 40 years. In retirement, he owned and operated Jordan’s Rod and Reel Repair. Lavonne and his wife of 62 years, Joanne, were lifetime members of Murray Hill Baptist Church. Lavonne spent his later days gardening, tending the atrium at church, and enjoying life with friends and family.
Lavonne is preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Alan Scott Jordan.
Lavonne is survived by his loving wife, Joanne; son Ken (Melissa) Jordan; daughter Amy (Donnie) George; grandson Sean (Rebecca) George; granddaughter Sarah (Marshall) Hall; brother Wayne (Joy) Jordan; four great grandsons, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. We will all miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held at Murray Hill Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL on February 25 at 11am. Funeral service will be held at Murray Hill Baptist Church on February 25 at 12pm with Dr. Doug Axtell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Murray Hill Baptist Church.
