Horace "Gene" Eugene Curts Jr.

Born on January 8 1941 in Savannah, GA, Gene lived a life defined by love, kindness, and dedication to family and friends. Throughout his life, he was known for being a loving devoted husband and father and found great joy in building and working with his hands. He loved fishing and the outdoors. He loved to go listen to gospel music. He was never afraid of hard work. He was in the Army from 1963-1965. Then retired from JEA after 36 years. Followed by 12 years at Seminole Electric.

Above all, Gene cherished time spent with family. He leaves behind his wife Donna Jean Curts. His children Genia Kuykendall, Austin Curts, Wendy Rafferty, and Dale Whitaker. His grandchildren Devin Pollett, Bryce Mullen, Aaron Polatty, Remmy Kuykendall, and Pax Baugh. His Great Grandchildren Braelyn Pollett, and Brody Pollett.

Those who knew Gene will remember him for his personality, and love for life. His willingness to help all who needed it, and his devotion to god. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with love, wisdom, and friendship.

A funeral will be held on Saturday, July 18th, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Viewing is from 12:00 - 2:00PM with a reception following graveside services.

Gene will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
