

Ines Mayol Dimain, 85, passed away January 4, 2016 in Jacksonville, FL. due to natural causes. She was born April 20, 1930 in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. She was last a member of San Jose Catholic Church. Family members include her sons, Gregory R. (Vivian) Dimain and Benecio D. “Chickie “ Dimain, Jr., sister Barbara Dimain, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She joins her husband Benecio D. Dimain, Sr. and sisters Beatrice Vega and Elsa Hernandez and her brother in law Jose Vega at the table of the most high and will be truly missed.
Ines and Benecio met in Cuba while he was in service for the USN. Both fell in love and being pro American decided to marry on July 4th. Both left Cuba in 1957 with their first son (Gregory) aboard the U.S.S. William C. Lawe headed for New York with Ines bearing her second child (Barbara) in search of the American Dream. They finally settled in Jacksonville where they would have their 3rd child and second son Chickie. Ines and Benny both worked in the hospitality and food service industry after he retired from the United States Navy working at many of Jacksonville's finest country clubs through the years including Ponte Vedra, Hidden Hills, Deerwood and Baymeadows. Both Ines and Benny were inseparable through life, only to be separated earlier by his death and now they are together again.
A memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Haradge-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. N., Jacksonville.
The family is very honored to have Monsignor Mortimer Danaher presiding over the service. Inurnment will follow in Chapel Hills Memory Gardens.
