Jack R Pounds

Jack R. Pounds, 83, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015. He was born in Jacksonville Florida to Ross and Maggie Mae Pounds. He retired from CSX with 43 years of service. Jack was a loving father, grandfather and friend to all that knew him. His generosity and kindness toward others will not be forgotten. Jack is survived by his loving wife Gloria, daughter Judy Chesser Byrd, stepdaughters Janet (H. Hollis) Caffee, Karen (Stephen) Hancock, Kathy (Wade) Morris and Robin (Marvin) Wilson. Siblings; Harry (Barbara) Pounds, Mae Cleone (Robert) Dodd, Patricia Ann (Douglas) Fautt, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many longtime friends. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Ross and Maggie Mae Pounds, and brothers Jerry (Thelma) Pounds and Ronnie (Priscilla) Pounds.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 12, 2015 at Hardage Giddens Town and Country, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday January 13, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Hardage Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home with Father Ed Shiell officiating.
