Jacquelyn Lois Milligan Ernst

Mrs. Jacquelyn Lois Milligan Ernst, age 90, joined our heavenly father and her beloved Howie, Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Silver Treasures Senior Living in Orange Park, Florida. She was born on March 1, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fred Cuthbert and Mildred (Eklund) Milligan. “Jackie” who was lovingly referred to by both friends and family as “Mom”, “Grammy”, “Momimi”, Lois, and Aunt Lois, will be missed by the many lives she has touched. She truly was mother and caregiver, through and through.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, since age 17, Howard William Alva Ernst; sister Patricia; son David; grandson Jason; and her much-beloved furry friend Cody.

During high school she was crowned May Queen. She married Howie in 1949, where they eventually moved to North Olmsted, Ohio to raise their family. They moved their family to Clearwater, Florida in 1967. She was a cashier for Publix Supermarket for 20 years. Jackie loved to travel and during their retirement she and Howie traveled to all 50 states, driving for weeks at a time through all but Hawaii, Alaska and California, where they took guided tours instead. She also loved going on cruises with her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed reading, watching movie musicals and listening to live musicians. She REALLY, REALLY loved iced cream; her favorites were peanut butter cup and vanilla soft-serve. Jackie was a member of Journey Church, where she volunteered helping out in Journey Kids Junior. Most of all Jackie enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Jackie’s love of God and family were the most important things in her life. In her later years she had a wonderful and sometimes unexpected, sense of humor about life and her conversations and time spent reminiscing will be missed by her family so much.

Jackie is survived by brother Jack and sister-in-law Marge; son Gary and daughter-in-law Debra; daughter Sandra; daughter Darlene and son-in-law Kevin; and daughter Dawn and son-in-law Jay; grandchildren Timothy, Michael, Jennifer, Jill Jacquelyn, Micah, Nicole, Rachel, Jessica, Joshua, and Brook; great-grandchildren Zya Jacquelyn, Amara, Dominic, Dennis, Elias, Jase, Arabella, and Liam.

The Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Journey Church, 6225 Lake Gray Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32244 with Pastor Eric Jaffee officiating.
