Burt lived his final 7 years in residence, and being the life of the party, at W. Frank Wells Nursing Home in Macclenny, Fl.
Burt was a Tradesman for many years, being experienced in several building trades, most notably electrical, sheet metal and restaurant maintenance. He had a lifelong interest in boating, owning several boats, even living on houseboats for several years. His lifelong hobby was model trains, completing several large layouts.
He was married to Betty Lou (Flora) Dunn until her untimely passing 30 years ago. Burt and Betty raised 4 children, James Ricky (Rick), Jacksonville, Fl, Sue Ann Dunn Wells, Dayton, Ohio, Denise Kathy Dunn Robey, Zephyrhills, Fl and Jennilee Dunn Jarrett., Zephyrhills, FL, 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be most appreciative of donations made to the Resident Activities Department at W. Frank Wells Nursing Home, 210 N.2nd St, Macclenny Fl. 32063 and/or Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
Visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205, US, on August 5, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place in the same location at 2:00 pm.
A Committal Service will immediately follow the funeral service at Riverside Memorial Park, adjacent to the funeral home.
