

FUTCH James Willard Futch, Retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer died peacefully on February 28, 2016 at the age of 81 in Jacksonville, Florida after a short battle with cancer. James is survived by his wife of 52 years of marriage, Clementina Futch and his four children, Rosanna Colucci Dixon, Amleto Colucci, Vollie E. Futch, III, and Elizabeth Futch-Evans; six grandchildren, James Canipe, Brandi Canipe-Reed, Dominic Colucci, and Bianca Colucci-Sneed, Vollie E. Futch, IV, and Corbin Van Futch; also survived by nine great grandchildren, one sister and two brothers of Lufkin, Texas; Vollie E. Futch, Jr., Jackie Futch, and Patsy Wise. James was born on October 1, 1934 in Nacogdoches, Texas. James faithfully served in the United States Navy for twenty years as well as served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion, Mayport, FL, Post 316. James was a devoted and loving husband, Father, Brother, and Grand-Parent. James was a well-respected man known for his generosity and spirited humor. He loved his family and adored his friends. A funeral is scheduled for 10:00 AM on March 5, 2016 at Chapel Hills Cemetery, coupled with a military ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests to please send donations to Community Hospice.
