James Giddens died on December 5, 2013 in the Philippines. He is survived by his son, Richmond (Richie) Giddens, sister, Betty Miller, sister-in-law, Suzanne Giddens Armstrong, numerous nieces, a nephew, numerous great nieces, great nephews and many friends. James was pre-deceased by his parents, Abner and Myrtis Giddens, his brother, Wilson Giddens, nephew Alan Giddens and great nephew, Brayden Ranieri.
James was born in Coffee County, Georgia, but grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended local schools. After graduation from Andrew Jackson High School, he joined the U. S. Air Force. James was a military police officer while serving in the Air Force and he continued his law enforcement career with the Duval County Road Patrol and retired from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. James enjoyed the beach, boating, fishing and traveling.
