James K. Schage., age 85, passed away October 2, 2015 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born August 30, 1930 to Gustav and Eva (Altman) Schage in Jacksonville, Florida. James was preceded in death by his wife Frances Schage in 2011, his parents, and one brother Fred Schage. James was a veteran of the United States Army and was an Elder at St. Andrews Presbyterian. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #137, VFW Post 7909, an honorary voyager member of La Societe de Memme, and a past member of 40 / 8 Color Guard. When James wife passed away he had to learn to cook and became a very good cook. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending much time outdoors. He will be missed dearly by his loving children James Schage (Terri), William “Billy” Schage, and Barbara Holley (Bob); five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends and family 11:00 am – 12:00 pm Tuesday October 6, 2015 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
