I am so sorry to hear of Janet's passing and your family's loss.  It comforted me to see she realized her dreams of going to medical school, being a doctor, marrying the man of her dreams and having a family.  I was Janet's freshman year college roommate at Boston University and we remained in contact for many years. I remember laughing like crazy with her.  
May she rest in peace and you find comfort in lasting memories.

One of my favorite memories of Janet is of us sitting around the table in your kitchen playing a game (I think it was dictionary) and Janet had us all laughing so hard - she knew how to get you to smile. I had known Janet for only 1 ½ months when I was asked to help the Aetna Medicare plan in New England. Being a Coventry Medical Director for more than 6 years, the task of learning new computer systems and new guidelines for documentation was overwhelming. Janet was the comforting voice on the other end of the phone who guided me through the maze. I am sorry that I will not be able to tell her how important her help was to me. She will be greatly missed.

It is with great sadness as I write this.  The news of the sudden death of Dr. Attlesey's is heartbreaking.  She was a remarkable woman who inspired many and was a delight to talk and work with. Her family was so important to her. She will be dearly missed. 

Dr. Attlesey's was one of the kindest, wisest, most thoughtful people I've ever known. I'll never forget that time, when she gave me some helpful advice after my son had an illness. I was so upset about what outcome of the results of the test & being a parent of an only child with disability doesn't help. Dr. Attlesey's helped me calm down, taught me how to deal with the situation with finesse. She taught me to take responsibility and be strong as a mom and I still carry that lesson with me today.  
 
I miss you so much Dr. A – as I am closing this note, your IM is saying you have been off line for 6 days.

Janet was one amazing woman. She was beautiful inside and out. I not only had the pleasure of working with her early in my nursing profession but I had the pleasure of having several great conversations and laughs with her. She loved her family dearly! Although, I was not working with Dr. Attlesey at the time, I truly cherished our relationship. We became close on a personal level about 7 years ago while I was pregnant. Janet often provided advice, guidance, and friendship during our many conversations. Then when I suddenly lost my father 6 years ago, Janet was there to provide comfort and support. She always spoke so lovingly of her family and how important they all were to her! We were shocked at the news of Janet's passing but we know that she has gone to a better place. From providing a life-saving diagnosis for Marian, to inspiring our daughter Kalea to major in Bio-pre med at Florida State University, to being the big-sister I never had during my career in the Navy, Janet, Mark, Brianna, Dylan, and Jason will always be family as far as we are concerned. I will all always remember the way Janet's bubbly personality would just fill up a room with laughter and joy. She encouraged me to continue in my nursing career, and when she learned I was going back to school for my masters degree, she was so excited. Dear Brianna, Dylan and Jason

I met your mother her first year of college at Boston U.  She lived next door to me.  We became friends very quickly, and continued the friendship even when she went to Wisconsin.  I was a senior when I met your mom and cared about her like she was my little sister.  We lost touch but when we reconnected in 2009 it was like we never missed a beat.  I loved being able to talk to your mom.  We last spoke a few weeks ago and reminisced about our time together in Boston.  And, she always talked about each of you and how much she loved you all. 

Your mom was a very special person and though she may not be here physically, she will always be there to watch over and love you.  The world may have lost Janet Vergo Attlesey but heaven just gained another true angel and heaven is a better place because of her.  I know that I will miss her greatly.
