Janet Carol Houck

January 8, 1938 – August 31, 2026

Beloved mother of James Wayne (Varonda) and Jill (Glenn) Beck. She was a loving Nana to Jennifer, Matthew, Shyanne, Christian, Olivia and Kerry. She was so fortunate to be “Nana Janet” to her grandchildren Derek, Missie, Brian, Andrea, Erin, Jordan, Jude, Masha, Jonathan and Jadon.

Janet was from Decatur, Illinois, and as a young girl the family moved to Miami, FL. She met her husband James of 59 years. They owned an Auto Appraisal business for many years. Janet went on to work for Sears for over 20 years, and then she and James moved to Jacksonville, FL.

She was preceded in death by her husband James, her brother Jerry Bryan, and sisters Nancy Calhoun and Joyce Bryan. She is also survived by her siblings James Bryan (Melinda) and Linda Monsalvatge (Donald).

She was so dearly loved by all family members, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and so many wonderful friends.

Janet will always be remembered for never forgetting someone’s birthday or anniversary and making sure a card was sent to all those so dear to her.

A celebration of life will be arranged at a future time.
