Jannetje Bos Hunsaker, of Jacksonville Florida, passed away peacefully on 17, August 2026 at the age of 96. Jannie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was born and raised in the Netherlands, but later married Leland Stanford Hunsaker of Utah and moved to the United States.
Jannie trained as a nurse in the Netherlands. She spoke multiple languages and dedicated her life in service of her family and others. She was always busy, and enjoyed many activities which included tennis, painting, crafts, music and volunteering her skills where they could be utilized best. She served in many church callings including twenty-five years as the church ward organist.
Jannie is survived by her three children, Celeste Jane Magill and husband Marvin of Huntsville, Alabama ; Raymond Stanford Hunsaker and wife Cindy of Denver Colorado; and Demetria Monaco and husband John of St. Paul Virginia. She had ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Stan, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation will be at the Hardage-Gidden Chapel Hills Funeral Home (850 St. Johns Bluff Road North) in Jacksonville, Florida on Thursday, 27 August 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
The funeral will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, (7665 Fort Caroline Road), Jacksonville Fl, at 11:00 AM Friday, 28 August 2026.
