Jaycee Lauryn Sheffield

Jaycee Lauryn Sheffield, 28, of Jacksonville, Florida, gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. She was born on October 31, 1995, in Jacksonville, FL, to Robert "Bobby" Alexander Sheffield, III and Melissa Anne Sands.

Jaycee was a 2014 graduate of the Darnell-Cookman School of the Medical Arts and a 2019 graduate of the University of North Florida. She truly loved with her whole heart and was loved by her family and friends. She was passionate about helping animals and was an inspiration to the Wildlife Rescue Coalition of Northeast Florida. She loved to travel, she loved music, she made friends with everyone she met all over the world. Jaycee was born with OI (osteogenesis imperfecta), although this condition proved to be difficult on her, she was a warrior and she refused to give up or give in. She lived an adventurous life and lived it to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Devon Alexander Sheffield, her mother, Melissa Anne Kimball, and her paternal grandmother, Deborah Louise Gelaro. She is survived by her father, Bobby Sheffield (Karen) her brothers, Dylan Sheffield, Darin Sheffield, and Cohen Kimball, Step father, Marcus Kimball(Casey), paternal great-grandmother, Louise Gelaro, significant other, Josh Morel, grandfather, Roger Sands, Aunt, Stacey Richardson, Uncles, Tommy Gelaro (Jodi) Eugene Gelaro (June), David Gelaro (Cathy), Brian Gelaro(Bobbi), and extended family, loved ones, and a host of very special friends.

A visitation for Jaycee will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225. A Celebration of Life with take place on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225. A committal service will follow on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
