Jim Craft

Jim was born on August 7, 1956 in Anderson, SC to James Larry Craft, Sr. and Betty Dewren Jones. On March 31, 1977 he married Mary Ann Smith. They raised 5 sons, James, Robert (Robbie), Ernest (Ben), Kevin (Matt), and Michael. Jim retired in February of 2021 as a Fleet Supervisor, after a long and successful career with Publix Supermarkets. He is perhaps better known for his many years spent in the local entertainment industry as a singer and entertainer. Jim had a special gift on stage, using his many talents and wit to put a smile on the faces of countless fans. When he wasn’t on stage, Jim could often be found on a boat with a fishing pole in hand. He loved to hear his fishing line “sing.”

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years Mary Ann Smith; son, Robert Dillon Craft; grandson, Matthew Wyatt; brother, Joe Anderson; and his parents James Larry Craft and Betty Dewren (Jones) Hansard. He is survived by his four sons, James Larry Craft III; Ernest Benjamin Craft and spouse April; Kevin Matthew Craft and spouse Tabitha; Michael Dale Craft and spouse Stephanie; sister, Cathy Conrad; and 8 grandchildren.

A visitation for Jim will be held at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd N, on Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 12-1pm, with a service to immediately follow.
