Jimmie Lou Snell

Jimmie Lou Snell, 94, of Macclenny, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022. Jimmie Lou was born on November 3, 1927, in Midland City, Alabama, to Luther Mercer and Mina Mercer Sessions. She married Morris Earl Snell Sr. on December 25, 1946.

She worked in banking, as a chicken farmer and gardener, as well as in a floral shop. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, gardening, painting, cooking and spending time with her family. She was spunky, loved fiercely and cared about her family. Jimmie Lou was a member of First Baptist Church of Macclenny.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sons Morris Earl Snell Jr. and Thomas William Snell, granddaughter Joann Snell and brother L.A. Mercer.

Jimmy Lou is survived by children Anthony and Connie Snell and grandchildren Deborah Jo and Scot Giambruno, Kristi and Tim Wilder, Jessica and Brian McHenry and Jennifer and Jeremy Hite, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 29 at her church officiated by Dr. Herman Rios with visitation one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park.
