Joe E. Murphey, age 82, born to Ora Mae Dodd and Thomas Murphey in Springfield, Tennessee on October 31, 1931. He went home to be with Jesus on July 4, 2014. He was a member of the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on Normandy in Jacksonville, FL. Joe is survived by his one-and-only true love of 61 years, Bernice Sagraves Murphey. They were married on May 9, 1953 while he was serving overseas in the United States Air Force. Joe is preceded in death by his parents and only sister Virginia Curtis. Joe left behind four loving children, Barbara Jo Covington (Bill-deceased), Kathy Jo Goodman (Michael), Joe E. Murphey Jr. (Renee) and Michael Joe Murphey. Joe is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by his dear wife and family who love him so.
