John Frederick "Bobo" Smith Sr.

John Frederick Smith, Sr. “Bobo”, 73, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 19, 2016. Bobo was born September 16, 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida. Bobo was a believer and was a member of Glad Tidings Church in Jacksonville, Florida. Bobo was loved by his family and friends. He will be missed by so many.

Bobo was preceded in death by his loving parents Fred and Arzel Smith; wife Mary Ella Smith; son, Dink McLendon; daughter Cissi McCawley; granddaughter Lindsey McCawley; brothers Fred Smith, Hyram Buckshot Smith, and Jack Smith; sisters Eva Mae Sapp and Joan Kilmartin.

He is survived by his sons, John Frederick Smith, JR. (Tina) and Ricky McLendon (Lorna); daughter, Cheri Smith-Roberts (Leland); sister, Mildred Adams (George); brother, Marvin Smith (Pam); five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many dear to his heart nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends he thought of as family.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2016 from 6:00-8:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Westside Family Worship Center, 9717 103rd Street, Jacksonville, FL 32244. The funeral service will be officiated by Reverend James Wilder of Westside Family Worship Center and Reverend John Cain of Glad Tidings Church. Graveside services will be at the Smith Family Cemetery.
