

Jack was born January 11, 1938 in Utica, NY to the late John Herpy and Marion (Bord) Herpy. He graduated from New Hartford Senior High School in New Hartford, NY in June 1955. He later continued his education at Massey Business College in Jacksonville, Fl.
Jack proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp from August 1955 until September 1959. He then continued to serve in the USMC Reserves until February 18th of 1963. Following a long career in the tire industry, he retired from Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company.
Jack was a long-time member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and youth leader for several years. Currently he is a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of the Yellow Rockers Square Dance Club for many years. Jack also enjoyed traveling with his wife and playing poker with his friends. Jack thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandson Todd and granddaughters, Madison and McKinleigh, who were the joys of his life.
Jack is survived by his wife of 37 years, Phyllis Woodcock Herpy; brother: Donald Herpy; sister: Alice Lindemann (Ernie); son: Keith Herpy; daughter: Kathy Kaye; stepdaughter: Peggy Jones (Mike); stepson: Rex Hardy (Beth); three grandsons: Todd Herpy, Ryan Hardy, and Aaron Hardy; two granddaughters: Madison Jones and McKinleigh Jones; brothers-in-law: Jack Woodcock (Peggy) and Bill Woodcock (Marian); sister-in-law: Catherine “Kiki” Jones; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Brad Herpy.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home on Normandy Blvd. in Jacksonville, Fl. Visitation will be at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church at noon on December 2, 2022 followed by the service at 1pm with Rev. Ann Graham - Johnson, Rev. Larry Graham - Johnson, and Rev. Jess McCrosky officiating.
The Interment, with military honors, to be held immediately following the funeral at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery on Normandy Blvd.
Pallbearers will be Todd Herpy, Mike Jones, Rex Hardy, Robert Snodgrass, J. C. Snodgrass, and James Irby.
The family wishes to thank Amedisys Hospice of Greeneville, TN for the excellent care Jack received--with special thanks to caregivers Debbie, Tammy, and Courtney. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice in Jack’s honor.
