Steve was a graduate of Englewood Senior High School Class of 78’. Directly out of high school went into the family business and made it a successful career. His hard work and love for his business “Rollin Sound of Beach Boulevard” will continue through his sons.
Steve developed many lasting friendships and business associates over the years through his hard work, dedication and sound business practices. Steve never met a stranger and always was willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Steve loved participating in the Jacksonville King Fish Tournaments and hunting in northern Georgia.
He is survived by his children Steven Lee Matthews, Daniel Alan Matthews (Lauren); grandchildren Steven William Matthews and Wyatt Daniel Matthews; sister Terri Lynn Fullwood (Kathy); Dad David Franklin Fullwood and Wendy John, Steve’s girlfriend.
Those preceding him in death are his Father John Daniel Matthews; Mother Bonnie Jean Fullwood and sister Rita Gaye Romine.
A visitation for John will be held Tuesday, June 2, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home with graveside services following at Riverside Memorial Park cemetery.
