He was born October 31, 1926 in Deland, FL. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He also worked for many years at Duval County Property Appraisers Office. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church downtown Jacksonville. He was also an avid ballroom dancer with his wife, and belonged to several dance organizations throughout the years.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Jones, of Jacksonville, FL, three step-children: Steven Estes (Brenda) and Sheri Batten (Floyd) both of Jacksonville, FL, and also Curtis Estes (Mimmie) of New Zealand; five grandchildren: Jordan, Autumn, Daniel, Sloan and Brock; along with misc. neices and nephews, and many close family friends.
Family will receive visitors at 10:00 AM Friday morning 5/13/2016, and the service will be at 11:00 AM, presided by Brother Joshua Keenan of First Baptist Church, at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd., Jacksonville, FL,
