Joseph “Tommy” Queen was born on the 4th of March 1948 in Macon, Georgia to his father Merrill Queen and his mother Lena Queen. Joseph served proudly in the United States Navy, and continued his love for aviation throughout his career, retiring with Lockheed Martin in 2013.
Tommy will be remembered for his joyful spirit that is evident in his love for his family and friends, as well as the happiness he found in fishing and sports. Tommy brought warmth and laughter to those around him and leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication.
Joseph is preceded in death by his father and mother.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Queen; his daughter, Melissa Lawler; his son-in-law, Scott Lawler; and his two granddaughters, Skylar and Ashley Lawler.
A visitation will be held on April 13, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Riverside Event Pavilion, 1373 Memorial Park Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32205 with Funeral Services at 12:00 pm at the same location. Committal Service will be at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32218 at 2:30 pm.
