He graduated from Mount Hermon in 2012. Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved taking trips to Universal Studios and Disney World. He also liked fishing and riding 4 wheelers. His favorite pastime was listening to music and watching Spider-Man. Spider-Man was his favorite superhero. He loved a good joke too, his smile and laughter would brighten the day.
Joseph is survived by his mother, Felicia Christine; sister, Caroline Davis; grandmother, Cindy Spurgeon; grandfather, Pete Cooper; two aunts, Shelby Schirmer and Stephanie Foster; uncle, Walter Spurgeon Jr.; and great aunts, cousins, nieces, nephew, and friends.
Joseph is preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Gilson; cousin, Michael Goss; and grandfather, Walter Spurgeon. They are now walking the streets of gold together, until we meet again.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11am at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32205.
