Joyce, was a stay-at-home mom. Most important to her was raising her children in a loving Christian home. In her years as a military wife, Joyce volunteered at her children's schools and worked to support the local Parishes. After the family settled in Jacksonville, she actively served in her church community at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church where she was a dedicated member since 1968. Joyce served on many committees over the years. She served as the Women’s Council secretary and was elected President of the Women’s Guild. Joyce initiated many ministries including bringing food to bereaved families within the church, and was also a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed working at St. Vincent's Hospital as a volunteer and organizing fundraising events such as the church fashion shows and dances for the church.
Joyce devoted her life to her husband and family, striving to make sure her children enjoyed a wonderful childhood, shaping them to be who they are today. Most important to her was that her children were happy and that they knew Jesus.
Special thanks to our sister Pam for selflessly and lovingly caring for Mom, and even before that, caring for Dad. Mom and Pam were a packaged deal! It was not always easy, but with love and dedication she made sure mom’s last years were full of life and love.
