Joyce Elaine Lanier, 59, passed away November 28, 2011. A lifelong resident of Jacksonville she was born to Frank and Ruth Newmans on June 5, 1952. She was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and a member of Springhill Baptist Church. She was dedicated to her job and a hard worker for the City of Atlantic Beach as a Customer Service Supervisor and was active in the American Business Women. She was an avid reader, a great cook, loved the beach, looking for shark teeth and spending time camping with her grandchildren.
Family members include her sons Daniel “Danny” L. Lanier and Darrell S. (Rene) Lanier, brother Frank Newmans, Jr., sisters Martha Bates, Elizabeth Johnson and Mary McGregor, grandchildren Brittany, Brandon, Chase, Kaitlynn and Zachary, uncle Joe Newmans and aunt Maude Roling, x-husband and friend Larry Lanier.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd N. Jacksonville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens.
