Born May 23, 1948 to Perfecto and Lucidia Carbonell, Juanita grew up in a large, loving family in the Philippines. She started her own family in the 70s and immigrated to the United States, where she worked as a security supervisor for many years. Upon retirement, she moved to Chapel Hill, NC, with her daughter Evelyn and son-in-law Dennis.
Juanita was known as a hard worker with a loving heart, and she loved her family more than anything. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed showing her care and appreciation for her family through food. Her unwavering support and constant care will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish Juanita’s memory are her 5 children and their spouses, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren: Richard and Dennia Carbonell and their children Samantha, Matthew, and Erick, of Jacksonville, FL; Robert Curry and his children CJ, Justin, and Marky, of the Philippines; Michael Joseph and Mandy Curry and their children, Kyal and wife Hannah, Kamron and wife Caitlin, Khristian, and Emma, as well as the newly arrived Caroline and James Joseph, of Spotsylvania, VA; Analuz and Owen Benning of Franklin, WI; and Evelyn Curry Costello and Dennis Costello of Chapel Hill, NC.
