Julia, better known to those who loved her as Judy, was born on September 3, 1942, in Jesup, Georgia, to David and Orita Jones.
Judy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Her whole working career was that of a secretary in which she spent the last 23 years of her career as a devoted Principal’s Secretary at Ridgeview High School, where she built lifelong friendships and touched the lives of many.
After retirement, Judy spent much of her time doing what she loved most—working in her yard and pulling weeds. She proudly called herself a “professional weed puller.”
Gardening, bird watching, and word search puzzles were among her favorite pastimes, along with crafting, sewing, and collecting jewelry in every color, shape, and style. She found joy in the simple things and brought her own special personality, humor, and warmth to everything she did.
Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold K. Parker, her parents, David and Orita Jones, and her sister, Coni Causey.
She is survived by her daughter, Candice “Candi” Gibson; grandchildren, Logan Green (Sarah), Macy Torley (Neal), and Cassie Duncan (Austin); great-grandchildren; sister, Olivia “Penny” Whitaker; nieces, nephews; and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Judy leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, love, and the many little things that made her uniquely herself. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
