Kathryn "KC" Cecile Edewaard
December 26, 1974 – July 3, 2019
Kathryn Cecile “KC” Edewaard was born on December 26, 1974 in Abbeville, SC. She went home to God on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 9:20 am at Mayo Clinic ER due to natural causes while she was in my presence and the comfort of my arms.
KC always had a love for life and others and it is her BIG heart that first attracted me to her. She always lit up the room with her smile and positivity. With her upbeat personality, everywhere she went she made friends, coworkers and everyone feel loved and like family. Her compassion and love for others has always been abundant in her life. After surviving colorectal cancer over five years ago her outlook on life became even more focused on her love for others and God, knowing how tender life is. Conquering the “C Monster” (as we called it), had no impact on her passing.
She had a special place in her heart for her sisters, family and friends in South Carolina where she was raised, and those childhood influences built the foundation for her big heart and love for others she had today. She enjoyed making cards and gift packs for others, making sure important days like Birthdays are even more special and never forgotten. She had a quote board at work that she wrote on daily to uplift others and make every day at her work special. In her free time, she enjoyed photography, compiling her positive quotes for her book, spending time with her husband and loved ones, and just chilling poolside under the Blue Skies.
KC was preceded in death by her Mom, Paulette Feinstein Lomax. Surviving family members include her husband, Kristopher Eben Edewaard, her older sister Georgia Miller (Jonathan), her younger sister Elizabeth “Libby” Nicholson (David), her older brother George Lomax (Hope), our Schnauzer “Sugi”, our cat “Koko”, and countless nieces and nephews and other family members.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, please give donations to “The National Children’s Cancer Society”. https://nc.thenccs.org/donate
She had a passion for Childhood Cancer and this would be her wish. Details for her Memorial Service in Jacksonville are still to be determined, please check back for updates. She was and is a Blessing to all who knew her and will be dearly missed.

We have been honored to have KC and you (Kristopher) in our lives as our next-door neighbors and friends for the last six years. KC and I (Stephanie) walked the big "C" monster path at different times offering each other support and comfort and I will never forget her kindness and big heart. Richard and I are devastated by her loss and cannot imagine what you and her sisters are feeling at this time. While we can't understand, we know God is in control and will guide you all through these coming days and weeks. Know that we are right next door and that we love you both.

Sparky, we were so very sorry to hear of your great loss. Your loving words were the perfect description of KC. I worked with her at PVMC before retirement and she brought a smile to everyone on a DAILY basis. We cannot even begin to understand your grief, but know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I have known KC for many years. Paulette raised these 3 children on her own. All 3 grew into beautiful young women. After losing their mom they were always there for each other. Losing a sibling is a horrible thing to overcome, especially at such an early age. A pain that will never go away, but will lessen with time. I love each and every one of you. I will always be here for you both. I still miss your mom so much, but I tell her I love her and miss her every time I go to work. Now you shall both be forever in my heart..........

KC and I were friends when I was in college. She was always very upbeat and happy. We lost touch over the years but I will never forget her.

For over 4 years you have been by my side, now there is a empty space . Walking out at the end of the day is the worst, knowing I will never hear "you have some Traci time" again. I hope you know how truly loved you are by all that knew you. You are my Sunshine, I will always miss you. Love Traci
