Kenneth Donald Sawyer Sr.

It is with a heavy heart that I inform our family and friends of the passing of our beloved Kenneth (Kenny) Donald Sawyer on May 24, 2026, after a very long and hard battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was 74.

Kenny grew up in Chesapeake, VA and was the youngest of six children. In high school he met the love of his life, Marie, and they began their life journey together over 53 years ago. Kenny, along with his wife Marie and their children, Lisa and Kenny, relocated to Jacksonville, FL 39 years ago due to an employment opportunity. He was employed by the DOD for 30 years. Although quiet in nature, Kenny's love for family and friends was ever present. He visited his hometown frequently and was always happy to sit for hours to reminisce and laugh about old times. One of his greatest loves was "classic cars". He loved to be around them, attending car shows, and taking drives with his son. He liked adventures and went on cruises with his daughter and her husband. He loved spending time with his grandsons, Daniel and Brandon, who filled his heart with joy.

Kenny is predeceased by his father and mother, Lonnie B. Sawyer, Sr. and Helen Beatrice Ashley Sawyer. Also predeceased by his siblings, Doris Marie Sawyer Bryant, Rheta Faye Sawyer Rhodes (Graham), Lonnie B. Sawyer, Jr., Darrell L. Sawyer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marie Anna Schwartz Sawyer; Daughter, Lisa Marie Sawyer Cordy and husband Scott; Son, Kenneth Donald Sawyer, Jr. and fiance Shannon; Grandsons, Daniel Cordy and wife Genesis and Brandon Cordy; Brother, Lloyd B. Sawyer and many nieces, nephews, and cousins that loved him dearly.

Kenny will be missed by all who loved him.
