Obituary of Kim C. Alexander
Kim Cecile Collins Alexander, 63, passed away at her residence in Pensacola, FL on January 15, 2022. Born in Memphis, TN on December 1, 1958, to the late Cecil Raymond (Ray) and the late Shirley Ann Collins, she was the fourth of their five children. She spent her childhood in Memphis, TN and her teens and several years of her adult life in Jacksonville, FL to be close to family. Her past seventeen years were spent with her long-time love and fiancé, Bruce Bennett. Throughout their time together, they lived in several cities including Jacksonville, FL, Memphis, TN, and ultimately Pensacola, FL. She spent many years in customer service, a profession well suited for her outgoing personality. She had a deep love for animals, often taking care of several cats and her beloved dogs, Chevis and Runt. Her passions included collecting unicorns, writing poetry, reading and music. She also enjoyed fishing and celebrating special occasions with family and friends. Survivors include her four siblings: Jim R. Collins, Jacksonville, Jan Collins Sexton (Carl), Jacksonville, Ann Collins (John), Hoffman Estates, IL, and Jil Collins Gartner (Rick), Plano, TX. Other survivors include two nieces and three nephews: Kyle and Kailyn Sexton, Jacksonville, FL, and Christopher, Joshua, and Jil Collins, Hoffman Estates, IL, and two great-nephews: Blake and Bryce Sexton, Jacksonville, FL, as well as extended family. A graveside service will be held Friday, January 28, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Alexander family.
