Kimberly Ann Dean, age 53, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida. Kim was born on April 21, 1967 in Jacksonville to Fred Ayoub Akel, Sr. and Joyce Christian Altman. She was the granddaughter of Pat and Fanny Christian and Joe and Marjorie Akel. Kim graduated from Terry Parker High School, class of 1985. She was the captain of her golf team at Terry Parker. She was married Paul Dean on March 26, 1988. She was a testing supervisor, as well as a Sunday school teacher. Kim loved her family; she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to all. Kim enjoyed holiday gatherings with family, especially Christmas, weekend get a ways, cooking, and also enjoyed fishing and shopping. Kim had a giving and loving spirit, a great sense of humor, and her family will always remember her for her never-ending and unconditional love she gave to everyone.
Kim is survived by her husband, Paul Dean; her daughters Katelyn Pires (Brandon) and Brooke Thomas (Andrew); granddaughter, Mia Ann Pires; mother, Joyce Christian Altman; father, Fred Akel, Sr.; her brothers, Fred Akel and James Poole; as well as many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of Kim’s life will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. The family will begin receiving friends at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Reverend N. David Griffin will serve as officiant. The family will gather on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Adel, Georgia for a graveside service.
