Laura B Stanley

Laura B. Stanley, born on May 4, 1957 in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico transitioned to her eternal home on September 5, 2025 at 4:55 pm at her residence in Jacksonville, Florida, due to a long and hard fought battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Guillermo Barney and Esther Rodriguez De Barney. She was a member of New Friendship Church at Atlantic Beach, Florida and loved her church family and pastor. Laura was affectionately known by her husband as “Laurita” and “Guaguis” by her siblings. She had a long career as a financial accountant and retired from Allstate after 34 years of service. She was referred to as a spicy, but sweet Latina woman whose husband adored her and called her his “one and only true love of his life!”

Laura is survived by her husband (Bob) after 38 years of marriage, her son Charles, and her four brothers, Alfredo, Guillermo, Alex, and Alberto Barney.

Laura loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them and making her well-loved enchiladas. She was a wonderful wife, devoted mother, and a sweet friend to those who knew her! A memorial service will take place in her honor from 10:00–11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the New Friendship Church 1996 Mayport Rd. Atlantic Beach, Florida.

Let us rejoice that she is no longer suffering, burdened down by disease and the cares of this world, and rejoice that she has transitioned to her heavenly home and is in the presence of Jesus, the angels, and saints who have gone on before! May we praise God and give Him the honor and the glory for receiving His child!
