Lawrence is survived by his wife of 42 years Charito (Villanueva), his daughter Michelle Hickey (Ryan), grandchildren Madeline, Evan and Austin Hickey, Son Ralph Eggering (Jennifer), Grandchildren Aaron, Alora and Aiden Eggering, brother George Eggering (Joan), nephew John Eggering, and several other Brother and Sister-in-laws, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces & Nephews, Cousins, Friends and Fellow Model Railroaders.
He was a self-described grandfather of six, an ordained Christian Minister and Professional Model Railroad builder.
He served in the US Navy as a Communications Security Devices Equipment Technician with an honorable discharge. He continued to work as a contractor for the Navy as well as additional companies utilizing his technical, electrical and problem-solving skills. After retirement he was able to turn a life-long hobby into a small business and platform to innovate and share his love and knowledge of model railroading, while cultivating and maintaining meaningful connections/relationships with others and sharing his love for the Lord.
His love languages were words of affirmation and acts of service. If you came in contact with him in person or through a podcast, you most likely were bestowed both of these. More than anything his daily reminders that you are loved will be missed, but we will carry on his legacy by reminding each other that, "I Love You This BIG!"
A memorial service for Lawrence will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Chets Creek Church - Hodges Campus, 4420 Hodges Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32224.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hardage-giddenschapelhills.com for the Eggering family.
