

Lewis C. Clemons Jr. (L.C.), 86, passed away June 26, 2013 in Jacksonville, FL. Lewis was born September 21, 1926 to the late Lewis (Neal) Sr. and Mattie Clemons and resided in Jacksonville, Florida all his life. L.C. lived with handicaps all his life but he was an extraordinary person and lived a full fun loving life. He had a great sense of humor and he loved life and loved his family dearly. He retired from Pantry Pride Grocers in the seventies. He was of Baptist faith and attended First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, eating out, and shopping. If he was buying something, he was happy. He loved buying for others and if you went to see him he always had something to give you when you left. His niece called it a “door prize”. Through the years he collected coins and miniature model cars. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Clemons; sisters Elizabeth Ramsey and Frances Barber. He will be dearly missed by his sister, Betty Tillis (Winfield) of Chiefland, FL; sister-in-law, Ruth Clemons Southerland (Sam) of Jacksonville, FL; and many loving and caring nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 11:30 am, Saturday June 29, 2013 at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jaksonville, FL. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hardage- Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32205.
