Lillian Clarice Ivey Kennedy was born February 8, 1943, in Jacksonville, FL. She was the only child of Norine Trammell Ivey and Harold Bertram Ivey. She passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 82.
She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and the University of North Florida with a master’s degree in Exceptional Student Education and Administration. She held various positions in Brevard, Hillsborough and Putnam Counties as well as the Northeast Florida Educational Consortium and the Florida Department of Education. She always enjoyed teaching and conducting teacher workshops.
She sang in church choirs, loved tap dancing and painting with watercolors. Her joy was knowing many friends and family members hung her work in their homes.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Clayton Kennedy, Jr.; daughter, Amy Waterman and husband Rob; son, Christopher Kennedy and wife Candi; and her precious grandson, Clayton Perry Kennedy.
