Linda Gilson was born on April 3, 1956, in Pensacola, Florida. As the oldest of five children, she played a significant role in raising her siblings. In November 1973, she welcomed her beloved son, Bryan Gilson, into the world. Linda pursued her associate degree in criminal justice while her husband, whom she later divorced, was stationed in Texas. She dedicated herself to caring for Bryan, who was born with cystic fibrosis, until his passing in April 1985. In 2007, she obtained guardianship of her two boys, Nicholas, and Blake Gilson.
Throughout her life, Linda cared for others and always put family first. She lovingly nursed her mother, Kathrine Carano, and her sister, Sharon Kamm, during their illnesses until their passing. Known for her warm and inviting nature, she welcomed everyone into her life with open arms. Linda had a bubbly personality and a deep love for the beach, lighthouses, and dolphins (both the animal and the NFL team).
Linda was a devoted mother, caring friend, and an amazing person. She passed away on November 1, 2020, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. She is survived by her two sons, Nicholas, and Blake Gilson, as well as many lifelong friends.
A memorial service for Linda will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM, followed by a committal service at 3:00 PM.
