Linda Joyce Grantz

Linda was a 1961 graduate of Ponca City High School in Ponca City, Ok. After graduation, Linda attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa. After college, Linda went to work for Family Loan in Ponca City where she met the love of her life, Alvin D. Grantz. Linda and Al were married in December 1964 and they began their journey in life together. After spending the majority of their lives in Oklahoma, Linda and Al retired to Florida several years ago to be in warmer weather and close to family.

Linda loved her family more than anything and was a great friend. She never met a stranger and loved doing things for others. Even when faced with health obstacles, Linda was strong and never let anything get in the way of attending family functions. More importantly, Linda loved Jesus and her love for others reflected this.

During her time in Florida, Linda was a member of the Flagler Women’s Club and made several dear friends that she spent special time with.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Larry Thompson. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Alvin Grantz and her children Todd Grantz (Andrea) of Deland, FL, Jennifer Pearce (Jeff) of Jacksonville, FL and her sister Phyllis Ames (Pat) of Gonzales, LA; and three grandchildren, J.P. Pearce (Lauren) and Jonathan Pearce (Kendal) both of Jacksonville, FL, and Julia Godwin (Tate) of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Olivia Pearce and Everett Godwin, and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to sincerely thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Baptist Medical Center Beaches for their extraordinary care and compassion for Linda and her family.

A visitation for Linda will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225. A committal service will occur Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
