

Lorrie Hendley Snyder- JACKSONVILLE, FL- Lorrie H. Snyder, 51, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013. She was a loving and devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Lorrie grew up in Savannah, GA, but made Jacksonville, FL her home in 1987. Lorrie worked as a nurse for over 20 years, and most of that time was spent working in the operating room at St. Luke’s Hospital. She eventually became a flight nurse for the Life Flight team here in Jacksonville, and it is there that she met her husband, Alan. She was a founding partner of Apex Healthcare Solutions, which became one of the largest providers of home healthcare services in Northeast Florida. Her life is marked by the way that she constantly gave to others, whether it was through supporting the Wounded Warrior Project and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, through her many anonymous acts of kindness, or by serving her family as their matriarch. She is survived by her loving husband, Alan Snyder; children, Leslie Burch (Blake), Nicholas Burch (Chelsea), Keith Snyder (Jessica), Nicholas Snyder, and Anthony Snyder; parents, Al and Betty Howard; sisters, Cindy Hudson and Karen Cunningham; four grandchildren; 3 nieces and 2 nephews; along with other family and friends. Visitation with the family will occur at 6 PM on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. A celebration of Lorrie’s life will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
