Luella Mae Mosely was born on June 25, 1939, and passed away on December 1, 2025, after a courageous three-year battle with frontotemporal dementia. She was born in Somerset, KY and grew up in Lenoir, NC.
Luella was a loving wife to her husband, Dennis Mosely, and the best mother in the world to her three boys. She was a loyal mother-in-law, a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, and a woman whose warmth, love, and unmistakable southern charm touched every life she encountered. She was, in every sense, a true southern belle.
As a proud Navy wife, Luella stood by and fiercely supported Dennis through every chapter of life, including his illness and passing in December 2004. Her strength, grace, and devotion were the foundation of her family.
She is survived by her sons: Greg Mosely (Cyndi), Bill Mosely (Jenny), and Chuck Mosely (Karen); seven grandchildren, Amber Wiles (Clay), Chase Leland (Dustin), Adam Leland (Anna), Shelby Mosely, Charlie Mosely (Shannon), Hayley Mosely (Ben), and Ansley Mosely; and eight beloved great-grandchildren.
Luella took great pride in each of her homes—Milton, Florida; Great Mills, Maryland; and Jacksonville, Florida. She loved her pets, enjoyed cooking, and appreciated an occasional glass of red wine or sangria. She was often described as a “classy, beautiful lady,” known for her feisty spirit, protective nature, and unconditional love for her family.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she is finally at peace—reunited with our Lord and Savior and with our Dad, the love of her life.
We will love you forever, Mom, and miss you every single day.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Riverside Event Pavilion 1373 Memorial Park Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A Celebration of Life will follow at the same location at 12:00 PM.
