Madge was born on March 27, 1927 in Chadbourn, North Carolina, daughter of Robert and Frances Nobles. She was married to George Floyd Powers, who preceded her in death by 26 years, for 42 years. She was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church in Neptune Beach, and volunteered in the Auxiliary at Beaches Hospital for over 20 years.
Madge is survived by three children Robert, Pamela and Charles (Reggie). She has three grandchildren Jeremy Smith (deceased), Geoffrey Powers, and Elizabeth Powers.
Services will be held at the Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home 850 St. John’s Bluff Road N. in Jacksonville on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 11:00 am. Family will receive visitors one hour before the service. She will be interred at Beaches Memorial Gardens following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Auxiliary of Beaches Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
