Manuelo J. Campos Jr., 76, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born July 2, 1941 to Manuelo and Ysabel Campos Sr. in Belmond, IA. Manuelo was affectionately known as Campy. He loved to go fishing and bowling of which he bowled in leagues here in Jacksonville. His passion was his family and he loved spending time with them. Campy also was a pro at frying turkey and loved eating his wife sour cream pound cakes. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Yolanda. Campy is survived by his wife of 18 years Betty, children Belinda Culpepper of Summersville, WV, Terry Vargas of Hahira, GA, Sandra Hughes of Yulee, FL, Pepper Newman of McAlpin, FL, James Lewis of Jacksonville, FL, brother Johnny Campos of Ft. Worth, TX, sister Annie of Ft. Worth, TX, sister Angie of Phoenix, AZ as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home is serving the family. A memorial service will be held in his honor at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on May 23rd 2018 @ 1:30pm.
