

She was born in Syracuse, NY and later moved to West Palm Beach with her parents and brother. Marcia graduated from Good Samaritan Hospital Nursing School in 1952. She then worked at the hospital where she met her future husband, David, while she was caring for both of his parents after a serious car accident.
Marcia and David had two children and after David served 20 years in the Navy, they retired in Jacksonville/Orange Park area.
Marcia went to work at Moosehaven Health Center in Orange Park as an RN. She worked there for 26 years, retiring as the Director of Nurses. She has been a part of the Havard Nurses Health Study for the past 49 years.
Marcia was always active in church, her last membership being Island View Baptist/The Springs Church. There she worked with special needs adults. She also enjoyed reading, gardening (especially roses), knitting, crocheting, sewing and giving parties
In her later years, Mom lived at Allegro & Seagrass Assisted Living and Life Care Nursing Home. She remained fiercely independent, as long as she could.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David, her son, David, Jr. (Chip) and her brother, Walter Walmsley. She is survived by her daughter & “son”, Regina and Greg Rogers, Grandchildren, Christy (Xiao) She and Shawn (Sarah) Rogers, Great grands – Aimee (Tyler) Perry, Ansleigh Rogers & Audrey She.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, May 24 at 11:00 am at The Spring Church, 900 Park Ave, Orange Park, FL. Please wear bright colors and/or flower prints.
