

Marcus was born on November 15, 1954 in Houston, Texas. After attending the University of Florida, he
graduated from the University of Georgia with his doctorate in psychology. Following graduation he
worked as a school psychologist in Gwinnett County, GA for ten years, after which he moved to Long
Island, New York where he continued his work as a school psychologist in Syosset, NY until his retirement
in 2017.
In 2017, he met the love of his life, Tram, and moved to Vietnam. On October 5, 2019 they were married
in Gainesville, FL with the love and support of their family and friends. Marcus was a talented musician with a keen interest in piano and music composition. He created and collaborated on many musical projects that demonstrated his love of jazz, showtunes, rock, classical, and eclectic music from around the world. He shared his love of music with generations of his family, from joyous performances for his Mother, to his abiding passion for sharing music and access to musical instruments with the children in his life. He was deeply devoted to his wife, and developed a sincere love for the music, culture, and landscapes
of Vietnam. He enjoyed traveling and finding friendship, laughter, and music wherever he went.
Marcus was preceded in death by his father Alison Allen; his mother Viola Allen; his brothers Raymond,
Mickey, Tommy, and Dennis; and his sister Margaret Ruth.
Marcus is survived by his wife Tram Crenshaw; his sons Jared Crenshaw and Luke Pappas; his step-daughters Phuong and Uyen Ngo; his sister Lillian Sessions; and many nieces and nephews.
