Born on October 9, 1959, in Brooklyn, New York. Peggy lived a life filled with compassion, humor, resilience, and deep love for the people around her. For 38 years, she dedicated herself to caring for others as an ER nurse, touching countless lives with her skill, strength, and unmistakable warmth. Nursing was more than a career to Peggy — it was part of who she was.
Peggy was the beloved mother of Joseph and Alana, and cherished mother-in-law to Jackie and Sue. She was a proud and loving Nana to Ronan Joseph, who brought endless joy to her life.
She is also survived by Patricia, Edward, and Kathleen, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her tremendously.
She embraced life fully and joyfully. Peggy loved cooking for the people she cared about, gathering with friends, enjoying a great martini, indulging in her sweet tooth having ice cream whenever possible, and spending evenings at the theater.
She had a gift for making people laugh and feel at home, often with one of her signature sayings: “Hey you,” her classic response when asked if she needed anything: “A million dollars.” When someone asked how she felt, she never missed the chance to answer, “With my hands.”
If you knew her well enough you would get a sassy, “Pog mo thoin” — Gaelic for “kiss my ass” — was delivered with the perfect Peggy smile and spirit.
More than anything, Peggy will be remembered for her fierce love, quick wit, generosity, and ability to make everyone around her feel cared for. Her laughter, stories, and unforgettable
leave behind a legacy that will continue through all who loved her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Peggy’s life on Friday, May 22, at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home & Riverside Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. A ceremony celebrating her life will continue at Edgewood Condominium at 2:30 p.m.
To honor Peggy’s memory, raise a glass, share a laugh, and remember the joy she brought to others. Per her wishes, flowers are respectfully declined. Donations to assist with medical and funeral expenses are sincerely appreciated by the family.
