Mark Ivan Duncan

Mark proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He later dedicated 42 years to UPS before retiring, a testament to the hardworking, loyal, and dependable man he was. Mark shared 43 years of marriage with his wife, Molly (Margot Dyal Duncan). Together, they built a life centered around the thing that mattered most to Mark—family. He was the proud dad of three daughters, Malissa, Mallory (Ryan), and Jessica (Josh), and one son, Michael. He was also blessed with two bonus sons, Matt and Dustin, who held a special place in his heart and family.

One of the greatest titles Mark ever received was Grandpa. He loved his grandsons, Jayden and Jackson, and his granddaughter, Rylee, dearly. He also shared a special bond with his god-granddaughter, Maggie, who was a cherished part of his life.

Mark was more than a husband, Dad, and Grandpa. He was a brother, uncle, brother-in-law, friend, and someone his family knew they could always count on. He showed his love by being there, supporting his family, and taking pride in the people he loved. When Mark wasn't spending time with his family, he could often be found enjoying sports. He loved baseball, especially his Kansas City Royals. He was a die-hard Florida Gators fan and also loved cheering on his Jacksonville Jaguars. Whether his teams were winning or losing, Mark remained a loyal fan.

Mark is also survived by his brothers, Eric and Neal; his brothers-in-law, Jeff Dyal(Alice) and Mike Dyal(Linda); and his best friend, Antony Evens, lovingly known to the family as “Uncle Dave.” He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Ivan Duncan and Betty Ruth Duncan, and his sister, Maggie Ann.

Mark was loved by so many, but there was nothing he loved more than his family. Of all the things he accomplished during his 69 years—serving his country, working hard for 42 years at UPS, and building a life with Molly—perhaps his greatest accomplishment was simply being Dad and Grandpa. His family will miss his presence, his support, the sound of his voice, the stories, the laughter, the ball games, and all the ordinary moments that now mean so much more. The love he gave his family did not end when his life did. It lives on in his children, his grandchildren, and in every memory they carry with them.

A Visitation for Mr. Duncan will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday September 17, 2026 at the Riverside Event Pavilion, 1373 Memorial Park Road. The Funeral service will be held in the same location at 12:00 PM. The Committal Service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL, 32218.
