Mary F. Cathey who recently turned 95, of Jacksonville Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2015. She was a long standing member of Terry Parker Baptist Church. Mary was a longtime resident of Jacksonville after moving here from Cornelia, Georgia, where she was born and raised. She raised her children all by herself after her husband of twenty-two years died in 1964.
Survivors include six children: Susan Armstrong, Steve Cathey (Donna), David Cathey (Rochelle), Sharon Squires (Ken), Donna Staab (Andy) and Richard Cathey, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, visits and calls. In addition, we would like to thank Northeast Florida Community Hospice and Acosta-Rua Center For Caring. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to Northeast Florida Community Hospice.
