Mary Catherine McCoy, 85, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 in Jacksonville, FL after fighting the battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born September 10, 1930 to Joseph and Mary Farrow in Newark, OH. Mary never met a stranger and saw everyone for who they truly were. She was the heart of the family. You never saw her without a smile on her face and she was an inspiration to all who knew her. She loved going on vacation and especially to Disneyworld with her family to see her favorite character Mickey Mouse. Mary is preceded in death by 1 daughter Jackie Sue McCoy, 1 brother Joseph Farrow and 1 grandson Bobby Ray Smith. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Bobby McCoy, 1 sister Betty Chapman, 1 daughter Robin (Barry) Smith and 1 son Michael (Carrie) McCoy. Grandchildren include Stacy Farris, Clinton (Angel) McCoy, Christopher (Lisa) McCoy, Robert McCoy, Ashley (Rusty) McCoy, Tony McCoy, great-grandchildren Brooke, Stephen, Summer and Jack. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren she was simply known as “Granny”. A visitation for friends will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from 1-2pm at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral services will begin at 2pm in the chapel with interment following the services at Riverside Memorial Park.
