Mary Inez Beard Presley

Mary was born near Dothan, Alabama, on March 1, 1921. She moved to central Florida with her family as a young girl, eventually residing in Gainesville, Florida, where she met her husband. She and her young family re-located to Jacksonville in 1945. She was a homemaker and family caregiver for most of her life, in addition to having a career at Murray Hill Barnett Bank, where she was known for having the longest teller line due to her passion for genuinely caring about her customers.

She is predeceased by her husband, Virgil; her parents, George Beard and Lillie Mae Powell; her brother, Bill; and one grandchild, Billy. She is survived by her children, Donald (Becky), John (Darlene), and Sandra. She is also survived by five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 1:00 PM at The Good Samaritan Church, 44 Jericho Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218. Burial will follow in the North side of Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205 at 3:00 PM. Her family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the church prior to the service. Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Pine Castle (www.pinecastle.org) in her memory.
