March 22, 2023 – July 28, 2026 Angels tend to leave footprints on our hearts that time can never erase. Our precious Matteo Quinones was one of those angels. On July 28, 2026, our sweet boy gained his angel wings in Jacksonville, Florida, leaving behind a family who will love him for all eternity. Though his time with us was only three short years, the love he gave and the courage he showed and the fight will echo through our hearts forever. Matteo entered this world on March 22, 2023, at just 22 weeks.

His life began with impossible odds. Doctors prepared us for goodbyes before we ever had the chance to say hello, telling us he might never make it out of the hospital. But Matteo had a different plan. From his very first breath and moment he opened his most beautiful deep brown eyes he showed us what true courage looked like. He fought with a strength far greater than his tiny body, proving that miracles are real. Every smile, every laugh, every milestone, and every precious day we were blessed to share with him was a gift that we will treasure forever. He was the deeply loved son of Mariah Godwin and Daniel Quinones, and the adored little brother of Amilliani, Xavier, Adrian, Skye, and Rose. To them, he wasn't just a brother—he was a light, a blessing, and a reminder that love knows no limits.

Matteo found happiness in the simplest things. His eyes lit up whenever The Lion King was on, and his favorite color, blue, seemed to match the beautiful brightness he carried within him. His laughter could fill a room, and his smile had a way of making even the hardest days feel lighter. While the world may measure a life by the number of years lived, Matteo's life cannot be measured that way. It is measured by the hope he gave, the faith he restored, the strength he inspired, and the overwhelming love he left behind. In just three years, he taught us lessons many never learn in a lifetime—to cherish every moment, to fight through every storm, and to love with our whole hearts. There are no words that can truly ease the pain of losing a child. There is only the comfort of knowing that Matteo will never go a day without being deeply loved. He leaves this world wrapped in the endless love of his family—a love that death can never take away. Though we must now learn to live without hearing his little voice or holding his tiny hand, we know he will always be with us—in every sunrise, in every blue sky, in every lions roar, and in every quiet moment when love reminds us that those we hold closest never truly leave us. Our brave little warrior, our miracle, our greatest blessing—you changed our lives forever. We will miss you every day, love you every second, and carry you in our hearts until we meet again.
