Matthew Phillip Gordon, age 38, passed away June 14, 2017. Matthew was born on September 29, 1978 in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, Stanton College Preparatory School (Class of 1997), and University of North Florida, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance in 2001. Matthew was an avid sports fan and music lover. He also enjoyed cooking and barbecuing. Matthew was a loving son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend; he will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Kevin and Janet Gordon; his brother Christopher Thomas Gordon (Megan); niece Lily Gordon; grandmother Marie Justice; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. Father Edward Booth will serve as officiant. A visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 am on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5752 Blanding Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32244.
