Matthew's passions ignited his life with purpose and joy. He reveled in fishing, surfing, and embracing every aspect of beach life. His love for float trips and baseball was unparalleled - from playing t-ball to coaching his nephew Lorenzo, his dedication shone bright. He further explored his athletic side through playing hockey and joining a bowling league, while his loyalty to the St. Louis Blues and Cardinals inspired admiration. His strong work ethic was a testament to his character, and gaming, especially Call of Duty with colleagues, brought him delight. Savoring home-cooked meals, barbecue, and good food enriched his life. Grounded in biblical traditions, he illuminated lives with laughter and kindness. As a devoted prankster, his heart swelled with love and loyalty. His affinity for cars was notable, but what brought him greatest joy was sharing moments with loved ones. He cherished working alongside his father and basking in the warmth of his mother's cooking and his sister Sam's desserts, surrounded by his nephews and nieces. In his downtime, he discovered solace in the tattoo chair. Matthew's life was a vibrant tapestry of love, laughter, and adventure.
Matthew is survived by his father Matthew D. Thompson and his mother Sharrie Lee Thompson; his sister Samantha Thompson; his brother in law, Raul Tony Delgado; and his sister Alyssa Hope Thompson whom he had lost touch with in recent years; his nephew Lorenzo Matteo Lee, his niece Sophia Grace, his niece Eliana Madeline Rose, his nephew Nico Thompson, his uncle Jimmy Thiel, his uncle Joe, his god sister Antonia Guiffrida, his great aunt Donna his great-grandfather William Slack, his grandmother Cheryl Merckling, his grandfather Eric Merckling, his aunt Kacie Marie, his aunt Melissa Lynn Placatka, his aunt Jennifer Ann Cruz, a list that goes on and on of cousins, friends and family and last, but not least, Ms. Peggy
